Intercultural business communication in Brazil
Workshops are offered in person (San Francisco Bay Area) or via videoconferencing (worldwide).
Our intercultural workshops help professionals and teams build cultural intelligence and intercultural communication competencies. The goal is to help reduce cultural misunderstandings between foreign teams and Brazilian stakeholders.
This workshop will help us be more understanding, tolerant and able to work together. It was good to work with real examples people brought up or suggested.-Team member from Loral Space & Communications
As more and more businesses turn to Brazil to establish and grow their operations, it is impossible to ignore the conflicts derived from different cultural values and communication styles. The Brazilian culture is very complex, and to work effectively with Brazil one needs to get educated on the subject.
Understanding the communication styles and cultural values of Brazilians is crucial to successful business relationships in a culture as relationship oriented as Brazil’s. The goal of intercultural coaching is to help your team:
- See the impact of culture on perceptions, values, and behavior
- Develop cultural self-awareness
- Gain familiarity with common patterns of culture in Brazilian business
- Build skills that will enable your team to identify possible conflict situations within the team and in interactions with Brazilians
Workshops are tailored to attend to the specific challenges of the team. Depending on your needs, we partner with expert cross-culturalists to facilitate these interactive workshops.
Very engaging. Provided lots of exercises we could do as a group. The instructor was Brazilian with an American educated background who could relate to both cultures and provide practical examples of the cultural differences.
What I found most useful was the discussion about direct/indirect cultures. I did not realize how drastically different they are. Where I would say yes/no, indirect cultures would not. This was startling to me. It will help me listen and communicate more effectively.
